Hi. Nice to meet you. And Happy Labor Day weekend! Hope your labors are fun!
I’m Dorian, one of The Method Writers. Journalism is my passion and my career, but I’ve also just started a mystery series about a former FBI forensic photographer who becomes a private eye. I’ve got three of the best friends and writers in my critique group that anyone could ever hope to have and I just know I’ll see them all on the New York Times bestselling list some day. We’ve got big dreams. And each other.
I’m the “old lady” of the bunch. Not that I’m all that old – but I’ll see 30 before the rest of them do. And if they don’t learn to spend more time writing than exploring trouble, they might not live to even SEE 30. That’s the part that terrifies me: I don’t know what I’d do without them!
I know well that life is always changing and it’s about how we cope with that change that determines our quality of life. I was born, raised and educated in New Orleans – that “let the good times roll” attitude is all about rolling with the unexpected events in life. Voodoo, pirates, Katrina, doesn’t matter. We’re a resilient bunch. But I don’t want my rogue writer friends to change.
Well, need to dash, sorry – but it’s been terrific meeting you! I have a pizza date with my buddy Joe, and two deadlines coming up faster than the iceberg that sank the Titanic. But I’ll be back next Sunday—we’ll see what the week brings! Only thing I know for sure is that life with this bunch is NEVER dull.
Be careful out there and feel free to write back if you want to! I’d love to hear from you.
